Anyone that knows me knows that I enjoy shopping, and that I enjoy bargain hunting just as much as shopping. Century 21 has been feeding my passion for shopping and bargain hunting since I was a little girl in the late 80’s (don’t try to do the math; a lady never reveals her age). I distinctly remember making the trip to the downtown Manhattan Century 21 flagship store with my parents, and buying the perfect pastel peach-colored terry cloth robe with my parents back then. I selected that robe with visions of looking just like D.J. Tanner waking up in her giant bedroom that she shared with Stephanie (again, don’t do the math Full House fans).
Fast forward to my college years at N.Y.U., and my high-mileage prized possessions purchased from Century 21. I relished the fact that all of these amazing designer pieces were attainable; my black nylon Moschino tote that riffed on Prada’s iconic 90’s logo, my collection of Missoni scarves, and a pair of Prada flatform sandals that boosted me up beyond runway model height. But, really, who doesn’t love scoring a fabulous bargain at the end of the day?
I can go on and on about the hours spent at Century 21 in the Outlets at Bergen Town Center in NJ, doing heavy duty holiday shopping; but I’ll end the reminiscing here. The gettin’ is good at Century 21, and I highly recommend a trip to one of the stores or the website, as you can not only get full head to toe looks for the entire family, but you can also find amazing gifts, electronics, home goods, make-up; and omg, the European designer shoe section is sooo good. They do a great job refreshing the inventory, so if you spot something you desire, don’t sleep on it! I am literally still thinking about a pair of Dries Van Noten sandals that I lost out on…which I made up for by finding these amazing Aquazzura mules and Maryam Nassim Zadeh strappy sandals during my next visit.
Our recent shopping adventure in the flagship store downtown yielded some major summer finds that are perfect for our summer adventures! It is definitely also worth noting that a shopping trip to the downtown flagship Century 21 is a great way to cap off a slew of fun nearby activities like these and these . You can also make your way to the Lincoln Square location after some Central Park fun, and the Brooklyn location is right in City Point Shopping Mall!
We started from the top level in the children’s apparel and shoe departments, and made our way down.
With a shopping cart almost filled to the brim with Curious G’s first pair of flip flops and tons of cute outfits, we then made our way to the fourth floor where we stopped to buy a giant bag of granola. All of that shopping made Curious G peckish so I was so thankful to see a good selection of snacks to tide her over.
On the third floor I immediately gravitated towards a groovy raincoat that would be perfect for those not-so-sunny days we often experience during the transition from spring to summer in May. And then it was on to racks and racks of my favorite summer item: dresses!
My head was spinning from the aisles of fabulous shoes in the European designer shoe section downstairs! But my Aquazzura score was serendipitous because I actually had my eye on them for a while (and scored them at such a fraction of the original price!). My new straw bag, which I picked up during this prolific shopping trip, will be used at the beach, at brunch, and for travel!
Last but not least, was the treasure trove of gifts we found in the basement. The selection of beach towels and pool floats were so fun, and we even found unique beach blankets and throws that any host or hostess would appreciate as thoughtful tokens of appreciation. We picked up some toys for upcoming birthday parties, and then called it a day!

Gorgeous finds! I’m a major online shopper but I gotta check out Century 21. I haven’t been there in years, way before kids!
